Join artists from The Word is ART for Culver City’s first “Affair of the Arts”—a vibrant festival to be held in the heart of downtown Culver City.
More than 50 artists have been selected to showcase paintings, photography, sculpture, hand-blown glass, ceramics and jewelry. and more than 5,000 art lovers are expected.

In support of Opica, a non profit organization who help patients with Alzheimers and Dementia, Talisman Fine Art Gallery (A-6) hosts an annual benefit, open and free to the public starting at 2:00 pm. The event will feature live music with Tom Gramlich & Mystic Miles and special guests.
The exhibition will showcase works created by Alzheimers and Dementia patients. As part of OPICA’s art classes, original works are created and then put up for sale at this event each year. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly back to OPICA’s much needed art supplies and art program.

Adrià Julià initiates a new project focusing on the relationship between the camera and the body for his Artist Labs Residency and Exhibition at 18th Street Arts Center. Sculptor Harout Kazanjian opens his studio tonight offering a reception to commemorate a new show entitled “Metamorphosis” featuring new bronze sculptures.

Kazanjian was greatly affected by the tales of his mother was inspired by Hellenistic sculpture, the Winged Nike of Samothrace. He explains, “Those memories, and the image of the Winged Nike, with her powerful wings, heroic posture, graceful and triumphant stance were the embodiment of all that I remembered of the heroes of my mother’s stories. They are crucial to my conceptualization of the anthropomorphic bronze figures that have inspired my imagination and energies for decades.”

Hinge Modern celebrates US debut of Saul Alfaro’s newest exhibition. Born and raised in El Salvador, 25-year-old Alfaro attended the Universidad de El Salvador (U.E.S.), where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a specialty in painting.

In “Say We’ll Meet Again/Decir Encontraremos”, Alfaro’s debut exhibition in the U.S., the young painter captures the dreams of the children of his home village. This show will be comprised of figurative oil and mixed-media works on canvas, as well as works on paper.
