Topanga Days is back for its first day. This is a really fun festival – with great music, crafts and food. This is one of my favorites.  The best way to attend is to park at a friend’s house who lives in Topanga, walk, or take one car. Enjoy local artisans, craft vendors, amazing food too. Westwood

Inventing America: The Comic Book Revolution continues at Skirball Cultural Center. Opening on May 20, 2026, the exhibition takes a broad look at comic books and how they evolved.  Moreover it explores how creators shaped American identity through visual storytelling. The presentation spans the twentieth century, featuring more than 250 objects. While these include comic books, original illustrations, and archival materials, viewers can also participate with interactive installations as well. Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind officially opens today at the Broad. This is the first solo museum exhibition for the artist in Southern California. Organized with Tate Modern, the exhibition will continue her exploration of peace, imagination, and also collective connection. It features interactive installations, films, performances, and also text-based works.

Hermosa Beach

It’s time again for the annual Memorial Day Fiesta Hermosa. The 2026 event features a massive amount of arts and crafts vendors with four musical stages. Attendees will enjoy food of every kind, as well as carnival rides. Be sure to stop by “the Garden,” once known as the Beer & Wine Garden.

Marc Selwyn Fine Art, in partnership with Almost Forgotten Women Artists, an initiative of the Cameron Parsons Foundation, celebrates the art Betty Lane. This is the gallery’s first exhibition with the late American artist. Bringing together eight paintings from 1929 to 1947, the presentation offers a focused look at her diverse practice.
