Rod Bradley VHM 2023 Fundraiser
Bradley’s images evoke the inspirational characters and everyday spectacles. The images defined this community back then as much as they do now. Bradley called the Westside home starting in 1968. After a time spent living at the abandoned Pacific Ocean Park pier, he plied his craft in spaces around Venice throughout the decade that followed, from rented bungalows to the Boardwalk. He was a street photographer in the most classic sense. He moved through the city with his pawnshop camera in-hand seeking opportunities to document all that is Venice. His candid shots transport viewers to the past while illuminating connections to the features of Venice today..
Prior to the VHM, Bradley’s photography and writing have been featured at Beyond Baroque, Small World Books, and in the publication W. Washington (Junk Food Clothing, 2014). Rod Bradley’s photographs will be available for purchase at the December 9th event, with proceeds supporting the VHM.
