SPARC is proud to present “Signs from the Heart: California’s Chicano Murals” a special virtual exhibition in recognition of Latino Heritage Month. The resistance, resilience, and cultural pride of Chicano murals continues to empower generations and influence public art in our cities. A Zoom event takes place on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 6:00pm PDT.

This exhibition is inspired by a 1990 publication of the same name edited by Holly Barnet-Sánchez and Eva Cockcroft, and supported by SPARC.

SPARC maintains the largest archive on public art and muralism in the nation, and we are pleased to bring original archival images of Chicano murals to the public through a virtual gallery exhibition.

Join SPARC for “Signs from the Heart: California’s Chicano Murals” on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 6:00pm PDT for a premiere gallery tour and curatorial talk on the legacies of Chicano muralism.
