bG Gallery hosts a panel discussion today at 4pm. The art talk takes place in conjunction with its current exhibition Discoveries (part of Getty’s PST program). The group show curated by Om Bleicher, Sung-Hee Son and Deepa Subramanian features innovative works from contemporary artists whose creations are influenced by scientific advancements and technological innovations.

Also at Bergamot…Speedy Gallery celebrates two events this evening. First, it hosts its annual Holiday Group Show, featuring significant works from the past two years. Then Director’s Gallery will officially launch. This is a unique curatorial project led by Anatalia Bianchi that showcases newly represented artists. This coinciding dual exhibition highlights both local and global artists, exploring spirituality, self-reflection, and the fragmented nature of existence through diverse mediums, from abstraction to portraiture. Vielmetter Los Angeles hosts an opening art party for Spirit, Spirit by Los Angeles-based painter Mario Joyce. In addition, London-based artist Sara Berman’s Lapdogs and Fools also opens. Moreover Joyce’s work delves into how memories evolve over time and across generations, transforming into intricate capsules of meaning that convey messages of identity, belonging, and place. Originally from South Solon, Ohio, Joyce draws heavily from his family’s history. While Berman’s exhibition features a close-knit and captivating collection of recent oil paintings on linen and a short film collaboration with filmmaker Clare Macdonald. Steve Turner presents solo exhibitions – Amalgama by Joaquin Boz, Fasti by Valencia-based Marina Iglesias, My Garden by London-based Tang Shuo as well as High Rez: Tyrrell Tapaha. Joaquin Boz features new paintings which incorporate dynamic juxtapositions of scale, color, material and processes to create eye-dazzling compositions of various sizes. Furthermore the works of Marina Iglesias are inspired by the first century poem of the same title by Ovid which relates to the Roman calendar and holidays. Cirque du Soleil is back at the Santa Monica Pier. The acclaimed show KOOZA runs through January 5, 2025. Audiences are invited under the iconic Big Top at the Pier to be part of the joyous return of Cirque du Soleil to this much-loved location. From daredevil performances to mischievous clowns, KOOZA delivers its signature Cirque du Soleil experience. The Geffen Playhouse presents a reimagining of the classic Waiting for Godot. The cast includes Conor Lovett (I’ll Find You, Versailles) as well as Rainn Wilson (Thom Pain, The Office).
