Mount Wilson Classical Concert

The performances are presented inside the singular vaulted dome of the 100-inch telescope. As in the previous six seasons of the series, Artistic Director Cécilia Tsan, herself an award-winning cellist, curates.

The concert will feature the Zelter String Quartet, comprised of Kyle Gilner & Gallia Kastner (violins), Carson Rick (viola) and Allan Hon (cello). Concerts start at 3:00pm and also at 5:00pm. There will also be an artist reception with light fare and refreshments between the performances.

Mount Wilson Classical Concert Admission

Tickets are $55 and are available for purchase on Mount Wilson Observatory’s website in advance (highly recommended). Tickets are also available at the door. For additional information on the concert series, please visit the website below.

Dome seating is limited. Access to the dome performances is via a 53-step staircase. Be aware that since Mount Wilson Observatory sits at a mile-high elevation, so the air is noticeably thinner. Also, there is no ADA-compliant access.

All proceeds go to support the Mt. Wilson Institute in its mission to preserve, protect as well as promote the Observatory and the science accomplished there. Astrophysical pioneer George Ellery Hale founded the legendary observatory in 1904. Also, the property is open for free to the public year round, weather permitting.
