We all love Saint Paddy’s Day….but remember to stay local (walking distance), or choose a designated driver. Here are some of my favorite local pubs – be sure to confirm covid protocols and admission…its the ONE day of the year that many charge an entry fee.

Brennans

In the Venice/Marina Del Rey area (right on the borderline), there is always a fun bash at Brennan’s – Home to the famous turtle races. Complete with green beer, a beer garden and live bands…check the website for more info. Brennans, 4089 Lincoln Blvd., Marina Del Rey ; https://www.brennansla.com

In Santa Monica…we have some of our favorites…

Head to West 4th and Jane (1432 4th St.) Owners Keith O’Brien and Steve Lieberman remind us, “Since there are so many transplants on the west-side, many Irish and non-Irish drinkers love to come out and party.” West 4th and Jane, 1432 4th Street, Santa Monica; https://www.west4thjane.com

Sonny McLean’s Pub (2615 Wilshire Blvd., SM) is an old Irish Bar I used to sing at every month for a few years. They also happen to have really good food. Sonny McLean’s Pub 2615 Wilshire Blvd., SM; 310.449.1811; http://www.sonnymcleans.com/

In West Hollywood…Rock & Reilly’s Irish Pub offers some good old Irish fare and some great deals if you arrive early in the day. Rock & Reilly’s Irish Pub, 8911 W Sunset Blvd.,West Hollywood; https://www.facebook.com/RockAndReillys/

All of these establishments offer traditional Irish food and live music. Most places charge admission after 1:00 p.m.

Wear your green best, be safe and have a fun Saint Patrick’s Day. Pick a designated driver, stay local or take a taxi. Remember, If you’re lucky enough to be Irish, you’re lucky enough!
