William Grant Still Arts Center hosts a closing reception of this year’s African American Composers’ series on June 19, 2021 from 3-6pm.The virtual event will be held as a celebration of Juneteenth.

Each year William Grant Still Arts Center curates an exhibition of physical archives, art and albums. The program is supported by offering a free education program teaching lessons in the arts through the lens of the featured composer. A live concert coordinated by band leader and extraordinary musician Marcus L. Miller will be hosted as well. The concert will explore the sounds of the featured composer, or musical movement. For Junteenth, Marcus is organizing a retrospective concert, bringing back musicians from the past while inducting new talent.

Join in virtually Saturday, June 19 from 3 – 6 pm to experience this amazing concert coming at you live from the William Grant Still Arts Center, featuring: Kamau Daáood, Dwight Tribble, Gregg Wright, Maiya Sykes, Dexter Story, Mark Broyard, Derf Reklaw, Dale Williams and many more.
