This Friday, June 19, 2020 from 7-8pm, join art historian and former San Diego Union Tribune art critic Robert L. Pincus with Alanna Airitam, Debby and Larry Kline, and Marcos Ramírez ERRE for Small Talk: The Roots of Our Troubled Present. The speakers will discuss the relationship between art and pressing social and cultural issues of the moment as well the history of those issues.

Presented by the Oceanside Museum of Art, this SmallTalk was conceived by art historian and former San Diego Union-Tribune art critic Robert L. Pincus. This discussion will explore his longstanding interest in the way the present-day shortcomings, problems, and crises in society—from racist police practices to xenophobic attitudes toward immigrants to the intrusion of religious beliefs into politics—are rooted in the past.
