Felix LA 2021 will feature an intimate format this year, showcasing only Los Angeles-based galleries and occupying the open-air, poolside cabanas, providing a comfortable and safe indoor and outdoor environment for participants and collectors.“ After a year of so many challenges, we’re happy to present a strictly LA edition of Felix that celebrates our community’s emergence from pandemic isolation. We hope this edition of Felix will mark a turning point for in-person events in Los Angeles, and serve as a catalyst for a recharged and re-energized art world to emerge,” said Felix LA co-founders Dean Valentine, Al Morán and Mills Morán.

This year’s fair will feature 29 local galleries. Felix LA 2021 welcomes back a majority of last year’s exhibitors including Michael Benevento, Château Shatto, CLEARING, Grice Bench, Tanya Leighton, and Nicodim Gallery, while drawing a handful of new exhibitors including Blum and Poe, Gagosian, François Ghebaly, and David Kordansky Gallery. As Los Angeles begins to reopen following the COVID-19 pandemic, Felix LA 2021 aims to foster a sense of community and commerce for Los Angeles-based galleries — many of whom had to close their doors to the public over the past year — while creating a safe experience for collectors, dealers, artists, and fairgoers. Felix LA 2021 coincides with LA Art Week, which will celebrate the local arts community with a series of events and presentations.

Felix LA was co-founded by Dean Valentine and brothers Al Morán and Mills Morán with the goal of creating a fair experience that prioritizes connoisseurship, collaboration, and community among collectors, dealers, and artists. In 2020, the fair welcomed a diverse creative audience, hosting over 15,000 guests and over 60 galleries from Europe, North America, China, South Africa and Australia, and special projects and performances throughout the hotel lobbies, hallways, and ballrooms.

An UPDATE from the producers of Felix:
Please read the following information regarding COVID-19 safety precautions.
Felix is committed to a safe fair, and the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and hotel guests is our top priority. As a hybrid indoor-outdoor fair, Felix provides added ventilation for an important layer of safety.

Due to the updated mask mandate from Los Angeles County Public Health, Felix is requiring that all individuals wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status. In addition to mask wearing, Felix also requires that each attendee:
•Show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test results obtained within 72 hours of your visit
•Participate in temperature checks prior to admittance
•Provide forward contact details upon entry (in the event test-and-trace is required)

As you’re aware, Los Angeles is seeing an increase in the transmission of COVID-19 in unvaccinated individuals. These are proactive measures designed to mitigate the recent rise in infections, and will help keep all visitors and staff safe.
