The Sandwich Ministry
A small town deals with a once in a century storm. So three women gather to supply food for neighbors who’ve been displaced from their homes by floods. As they contend with the damage of the storm, they learn that what brings them together also threatens to tear them apart. Is their friendship strong enough to make it through the night?
By partnering with organizations that are tackling food insecurity in the city, this production will deliver thousands of sandwiches to people in need. It is the perfect expression of the kind of reciprocity Skylight continues to cultivate with Los Angeles.
“A primary goal in selecting our plays is always about how audiences are going to engage. Miranda creates a clever perspective, in The Sandwich Ministry, on the state of communities today through the lens of the story that she tells,” says producing artistic director Gary Grossman. Funding for this production is provided by Yale’s Binger Center for New Theatre.
