Janice Freeman PORTAL Closing

Janice Freeman has created throughout their career, various mediums, as well as  uncanny landscapes set in vibrant colors. The large-scale works for ‘Portal’ are such examples, from the vivid hues of oil to the flowing qualities of watercolor as a way to further enhance the quintessential characteristics of her style.

In an accumulation of abstract, figurative, and surrealist forms Freeman creates an inviting world of her own. In her vision, landscapes inhabited with scenes of flora and fauna traverse to a transient state, becoming altered to the point where the familiar becomes unfamiliar. Within her large works, color seems to bloom into saturated hues of magenta and flame-orange that envelop one’s field of vision, taking the viewer into a dreamscape constantly shifting with every passing glance of flowing forms.

PORTAL Janice Freeman

Artwork by Janice Freeman

In the journey which the pieces entice the viewer to begin, Janice Freeman’s work turns into a vehicle in developing a deeper sense of consciousness, further embedding a deeper sense of meaning within the ripples and painted patterns. It is in this entrancing quality, both visually and internally, which pull the viewers of Freeman’s work deeper into the journeys within the portals she creates.  Bio and Link to Images Below.
