The Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival

The Hollywood Bowl’s Jazz Festival is back on June 17, 18, 2023 (both days beginning at 3:30pm). Co-curated by jazz titans Herbie Hancock and Kamasi Washington, the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival will be hosted by Arsenio Hall.  Among the acts scheduled to perform at the two-day festival are Kamasi Washington, Aziza, Poncho Sanchez, LACHSA Jazz, Leon Bridges, Bell Biv DeVoe, Big Freedia, The Soul Rebels, Gretchen Parlato, Poncho Sanchez, Lionel Loueke, Butcher Brown, Andrew Gouche, West Coast Get Down, and more.

Since its opening in 1922, the Hollywood Bowl has been the premier destination for live music in Southern California. Legendary acts have performed at the Bowl. The list is long – from Billie Holiday to The Beatles to Yo-Yo Ma. All under the iconic silhouette of its concentric-arched band shell. Janet Jackson, with special guest Ludacris is set to open the summer season in June  2023.

The LA Phil continues its tradition of presenting classical concerts under the stars with LA Phil Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel conducting the orchestra and a roster of star-studded guest artists. Jazz Plus nights offer an eclectic trip through the world of jazz, blues, R&B and beyond, with LA Phil Creative Chair for Jazz Herbie Hancock at the helm.
