Stop by Gabba Gallery for the last day of Brooke Harker’s solo exhibit, “Day & Night” on Saturday February 25, 2023, from 12pm- 3pm. The artist shares bold vibrant strokes that depict places you’ve been or might want to bucket-list. Two additional solo exhibits for Patrick Haemmerlein and JSpot Jr are also on view in adjacent salons and run in conjunction with Harker’s exhibit.

“Brooke’s work radiates joy and a playful sense of adventure. Each painting is like a little vacation transporting you to a beautiful place brimming with it’s own unique energy,” describes Gabba Gallery curator, Elena Jacobson.

Whether you will be captivated by the night lights of a bustling city or drawn to foreign lands beneath the sun, Harker’s artwork entices viewers with details captured in thick oil paint or rendered in ink.

Often large in scale, her paintings reference a sense of optimism. “There is a magic in all of the tiny moments that make up a scene, beauty to be seen anywhere we go, day and night,” states the artist.

Harker also shares that there is a salute to many others in her paintings and particularly to anyone who has ever had a dream.

“Beyond the locations I depict that may carry memories for some and possibilities for others, the theme ‘Day & Night’ also references the persistence it takes anyone to make a life for themselves day and night. Whether a person is creating a family or a business or a career, a lot of little steps add up to a bigger picture. The awe I feel for recognizing how we are all interconnected is part of the energy that goes into these artworks.”

For anyone who could use a jolt of energy without the caffeine, you are invited to experience these paintings for yourself, no plane ticket or passport required to travel into the art.
