It seems like the holidays are starting sooner each year.  Many 2023 holiday events kicked off in early November, and several more on Thanksgiving weekend, so why not start celebrating the holidays early?

Also Hanukkah also lands in the first two weeks of December….

The Holiday Light Festival kicked off at Griffith Park on November 24, 2023. Also Santa comes to the RUNWAY!

Early Holiday Events 2023

The Pico Holiday Celebration takes place on December 2, 2023 from 9:00pm – 1:00pm.  The event will feature tree lighting, complementary sweets and hot chocolate, gingerbread cookie decorating and opportunity to add a wish to the Gratitude Tree.  In addition, local non-profit agencies will be sharing health and wellness information as well several artisans will be selling their wares.  And a surprise visitor bearing seasonal treats will be popping in.

Also on December 2, 2023, stop by the 12th Annual Venice Holiday Sign Lighting Event from 6-9pm. at Pacific Ave, and Windward Ave. The iconic Venice Sign will light up at 8pm with Los Angeles Councilmember Traci Park presiding over the ceremony.

Running Now: The Griffith Park & Southern Railroad invites the entire family for an evening train ride around a festively decorated one-mile track. The Holiday Light Festival brings together thousands of lights that will help get you and your family in the mood for a wonderful holiday. The ride is approximately 10 minutes around the mile-long track decorated with thousands of lights within Griffith Park. Suitable for humans of all ages.

After enjoying the fantastic lights and train ride, holiday gift kiosk, and winter-themed, open-air photo areas will be available to all. Also returning this year…open air photo opportunities for your pictures, open every night, plus our holiday gift kiosk (weekends only until Dec 8th, then 7 days a week). This is the perfect way to create long lasting memories.

Admission: General Entry is $7 per person and can be purchased in person or online. Priority Entry is $12 per person and can only be purchased online. Babies 18 mo and younger ALWAYS ride free.

Santa Comes to the Runway

Visit Santa’s house at RUNWAY Wonderland and make all of your merry wishes come true this winter! We can’t wait to host Saint Nick himself (Yes, Santa Claus!) at RUNWAY for a special photo op for you and your family.

Photos are offered complimentary with a toy donation to the Wonderland Toy Drive. For More information about the Toy Drive, see below. Walk-ins are welcomed, but reservations will have priority.

Wonderland Toy Drive

RUNWAY Wonderland Toy Drive started on November 25, 2023 and runs through through Sunday, December 17, 2023 from at 10:00am to 6:00pm. Join the RUNWAY for its fourth Wonderland Toy Drive in partnership with the LAPD Pacific Division. All toys collected at RUNWAY will be distributed by the LAPD Pacific Division to families in need on the westside of Los Angeles. Donate New, unused, & unwrapped toys or books for ages 2+; Drop off at RUNWAY Playa Vista during business hours. Find bins at the following shops: Micro Kickboard, SoFly Kids, The Studio (MDR), Superfine Playa, Sender One, Neighbors, Alchemy Works (Free Market).
