It’s the first Saturday of the month. and December 6 2025 Art Parties & Events include lots of holiday markets. These happen at Murmurs LA, the Natural History Museum, and also Avenue 50 Studio. However, I want to point out a couple of excellent exhibitions opening tonight. These include: TWISTED TALES at CMay Gallery, as well as Old Flames In The Bowers at Track 16. Also the Montana Avenue Holiday Walk takes place today. As part of the Montana Avenue event, artist Bobby Rich will be opening her art studio – so be sure to RSVP so you can receive the address. There is also one more holiday market that happens to be a fundraiser for HARK (Healing Arts Reaching Kids) – tickets are required. HARK brings arts to the children’s cancer ward at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. So please support this important organization.

Bruce Springsteen Patti Smith

One of the featured exhibitions that I am recommending is currently on view at Musichead Gallery open today from 10am-6pm;Jersey Poets is a group exhibition celebrating two music icons – Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith. Springsteen’s narratives echo small-town rhythms while Smith’s avant-garde voice challenges artistic boundaries. It opened on November 14, 2025 and will continue into the first week of January 2026. Take some time this holiday season to view this fantastic exhibition. Any of these photographs would make an exceptional holiday present. Murmurs LA brings back its annual Holiday Bazaar! The market will showcase over 22 vendors, a curated selection of independent designers, artists, and vintage collectors. Santa Monica

The Montana Avenue Holiday Walk rings in the holiday. This year the event producers will be closing down Montana to all cars, which will make it even more fun. Enjoy shopping, nibbling on goodies and enjoying some eggnog.

An Inspector Calls, written by J.B. Priestley classic mystery continues its run at Theatre 40. The classic mystery directed by Cate Caplin is produced for Theatre 40 by David Hunt Stafford. CMAY Gallery unveils a group show titles TWISTED TALES. The exhibition features five contemporary artists from MFA programs. Curated by Carl Berg as well as Virginia Anton, TWISTED TALES spotlights various mediums with illustrative qualities. While each artist’s approach is quite different, each work tells its own unique tale. The figurative works share both a sense of imagination and psychological intrigue. HARK (Healing Arts Reaching Kids) presents an evening of creativity, community, and giving back. The nonprofit holds a benefit Art Show & Holiday Bazaar at the Hummingbird Temple tonight. This is a very special organization that brings arts to the children’s cancer ward at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. I wrote an article about HARK years ago, and included touching stories told by some of the volunteers. I was deeply affected by how the kids responded to creating art.

LA Opera’s 40th Anniversary Season continues with a revival of its beloved Herbert Ross production of La Bohème.
