The Marciano Art Foundation hosts two events today. 1. KCRW x Corita Kent: Sound + Source and 2. An Art Conversation with Christina Forrer and Robert Cozzolino. Beginning at 11am, Novena Carmel, Francesca Harding and KCRW’s Music Director Ale Cohen will bring a lively soundtrack to Corita Kent: The Sorcery of Images. The day of live DJ sets is inspired by the artist’s vibrant spirit and radical playfulness.

Throughout the day, genre-spanning track selections will respond in real time to Corita Kent’s bold serigraphs and photographs, translating her colors, words, and energy into a site-specific listening experience that fills the main Theater gallery. Just as the artist transformed the visual language of pop culture into art with purpose, KCRW reimagines her world through sound, weaving music, emotion, and movement into the exhibition’s pulse.

For this special event in the Library at MAF, artist Christina Forrer will be in conversation with curator and art historian Robert Cozzolino.  The art talk will feature her work as well as her new monograph. Forrer’s first monograph, published by Gregory R. Miller & Co. with Luhring Augustine, features an essay by Cozzolino, a short story by writer Sabrina Orah Mark, and was designed by Purtill Family Business. Books will be available for purchase and signing following the talk. First event: 11am-6pm; Second event: 4pm; The Marciano Art Foundation, 4357 Wilshire Blvd, LA 90010; https://marcianoartfoundation.org/
