“The Music in Art Exhibition” takes place on Friday, August 17, AND Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 5-9pm. This special multiple venue event and exhibition was the brainchild of Randy Ball, owner of Blue 7 Gallery and its gallery director, Lucius Peterson. The two both love art and music and thought it would be a great way to celebrate it.

Additional venues such as the Unurban Coffee House, The Upper West and McCabe’s guitar Shop will all participate. Peterson

The Upper West

said, he was looking forward to collaborating with the Unurban Coffee House once again. They have previously exhibited the art of members of the Blue 7 Gallery and Collective.

The two night events will feature receptions on different nights. Friday, August 17, 2018, enjoy receptions at Blue 7 Gallery AND McCabes Guitar Shop. Then on Saturday, art parties take place at Blue 7 Gallery and the UnUrban Coffee House.  Upper West will feature a couple of artworks by artists from the Blue 7 Gallery and Collective….you may want to start here and enjoy their fantastic Happy Hour….then pop into the other events.

All of the venues (except the Upper West) will also offer live music in addition to art. In addition, McCabes Guitar Shop will feature an art themed concert. Tickets ($20 see below) are available for purchase for Graphic Scores, an evening of art and music with Vikesh Kapoor and Dawn and Hawkes. Kapoor is a photographer and the latter musical duo are both painters.

McCabe’s Event Coordinator Koko Peterson said she like the idea right away and reached out to the Upper West down the street to participate as well. A huge supporter of artists, the Santa Monica Restaurant currently has the art of Maureen Tepedino gracing its walls. Stop in early – they have a great happy hour – call to confirm prior to going (see info below).  Stop in and enjoy a fantastic meal. BTW, Next week (a Top Ten pick) the Upper West will welcome a new artist. CLICK HERE to find out more.
