More Downtown
Luis De Jesus Los Angeles offers an opening art party for two new exhibitions – Kim Garcia: a trace is not a map to you, and Danica Phelps: Reach. Garcia’s exhibition was inspired by a personal journey she had while caring for her father who was inflicted with dementia. Due to his condition, his desire to return home to he Philippines, despite living in San Diego for over 40 years became an important day to day feeling. Therefore the artist learned more about her family history to connect with her father. Needless to say it had a big effect on her.
