ow….there is just too much going on this weekend….The good news is artist and author Karrie Ross will be featured in a book signing and reception during the day….SATURDAY (1-4 pm).
Karrie is a busy woman, her work will also be a part of the Topanga Canyon Gallery Tour reception (at the gallery). See Saturday’s listing. So you can start your art party early then head to several others….to see how many you can work in.
I’ll be starting at Karrie’s event. In fact, I’ll be singing and playing some guitar along with Phil Kimball. It should be a lovely event featuring some renowned authors and artists. It takes place at Continental Art Supplies in the valley.

the Week is the annual Topanga Canyon Gallery Studio tour which takes place all weekend….June 8th and 9th. What a fabulous way to spend the weekend. See my article in this Friday’s Santa Monica Mirror. It’s a review of last year’s event. I had such a good time.

You can visit twenty two venues and see the work of over forty artists. Enjoy art demonstrations as well as works in progress in working studios. 
A highlight of the tour is the Silent Auction at the Saturday night reception. Gallery and tour artists contribute 8″x8″ works of original art to go to the highest bidder.
Tickets for both days are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Children under 16 are free. The tour begins at Topanga Canyon Gallery where work from each artist will be on display with the site number to assist in route planning with the tour map.
Topanga Canyon Gallery is an artist-owned and run collective that grew from the first Topanga Artists’ Guild in the 1950s. Its current location in Pine Tree Circle opened in 2000. Topanga Canyon Gallery presents exhibitions by well-known and emerging artists from the Los Angeles area, many of whom make Topanga Canyon their home.

In addition to the annual Studio Tour, Topanga Canyon Gallery produces a juried show in January, a student art exhibit each winter and new shows featuring the member artists throughout the year.
