In Santa Monica…
West Elm Santa Monica is exhibiting tree art and figurative fine art by local contemporary artist, Kat Shoa.
Born and raised in Iran, Kat Shoa was summarily shipped to US on her own at the age of 15 after nearly getting killed at the march on the International Women’s Day during the 1979 Iranian revolution. Later joined by her family, she has made southern California her home for over 30 years. A self taught artist, her highly graphic depictions of eucalyptus tree trunks, her signature line, are inspired by the trees at the local Los Angeles parks.
Enjoy wine tasting, refreshments, and good music.
