On Sunday October 15, 2023, Upper West celebrates Ginger Lai Art & Jewelry. As most of our readers may know, Upper West has always been a supporter of artists. The restaurant hosts rotating art shows and celebrates each new artist with reception.

The Ginger Lai Art & jewelry art reception will run from 4:30- 6:30pm (on Oct 15). Enjoy appetizers, art and community. The solo exhibition is titled Transcendence for the Holidays. The art will remain on view at the restaurant through the year.

About Dr. Ginger Lai

In addition to being a painter, the artist is also a clinical psychologist. Dr. Ginger Lai is a contemporary and abstract oil and water color artist. Therefore her background as a psychologist leads her purpose of art to an entire new level. She explores the bare canvas with vibrant colors, forms, and textures, revealing her inner subconsciousness. Ginger’s energy paintings, like amplified Rorschach ink blots, defy traditional representation, inviting viewers to discover personal meanings, mirroring her creative journey.
She also began designing fine art jewelry when she discovered the beauty of natural gemstones. Her greeting card series demonstrates beautiful artworks that she expresses in each exhibition. Finally, Dr. Lai has created a line of vegan non-GMO cosmetics as well.  Moreover, the packaging design of sports her own artwork.
The painter has dined at the Upper West Restaurant before, and like most of us, she is a big fan of Chef Nick Shipp’s cuisine.
