In the Bendix Building…Both TSALA and 515 are hosting art events on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 7-10pm. TSA celebrates 15 years.  There is also another opening taking place at the Bendix Building. CLICK HERE to find more about Track 16 Gallery’s opening also on Saturday from 6-9pm.

Tiger Strikes Asteroid Los Angeles debuts a new exhibition titled 15 Years. The a group show a celebration of 15 years as a national organization. The art party runs from 7-10pm. The exhibition runs through April 14, 2024.

TSA 15 Years

This group exhibition includes the work of roughly 70 volunteer artist-members from TSA’s five locations. After starting with a small gallery in Philadelphia in 2009, it has expanded to include locations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, as well as Greenville, SC.

TSA has since organized about 450 projects in the past 15 years, and has exhibited the work of over 2,000 artists. In addition to organizing large-scale projects such as Artist-Run in Miami, the gallery has also given many artists their first solo shows.

DIY with TSA 15 Years

Throughout the years it has kept its DIY spirit with the help of volunteer curators. It has nurtured a sense of collectivity that reflects its core values of radical empathy, generosity, critique, risk-taking, and imaginative thinking. Therefore putting forth exhibitions and programming that reflect these values. This unique model allows TSA to collectively explore and create not just one, but many alternatives to the mainstream art world. Rather than relying on institutional hierarchies with distinct specialties, TSA leverages the power of artist-curators working within their respective communities and providing opportunities for voices who might be overlooked within traditional institutional or commercial exhibitions.

This exhibition runs through April 14, 2024.

Also on the same floor….very close by, 515 hosts a closing art party for Collective Consciousness from 7-10pm. The group exhibition features artists Carolie Parker, Danny Shain, Lynda Pizutto, Ann Marie Rousseau, Mei Xian Qiu, Ruth Trotter, Joey Holdren, HK Zamani, Robert Kingston, Fatemeh Burnes, and Britney Penouilh.
