In West Hollywood…

Head to the West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval. This is the place to be on October 31st and the largest Halloween street party in the world. Its a wild, crazy, fun event with an amazing display of costumes and general merry-making. The crowd is ready to party!!!!

WHollywoodCarnevale halloween-2013One of the evening’s biggest highlights will be the honorary crowning of the “Queen of the Carnaval” and the City of West Hollywood is excited to announce that Queen Latifah will be receiving the 2013 title!

Enter the costume contest or just enjoy the parade. The theme for the 2013 Halloween Carnaval is One Noir Night in West Hollywood and it will feature 6 stages and over 50 performers. If you didn’t know it already, 1950′s Noir was an epic era in West Hollywood. This famous era will be resurrected at the West Hollywood Carnaval with a humorous twist. Think cop capers and old (West) Hollywood glam.

There will be three main stages Noir City stage (at San Vicente Blvd.), Speakeasy stage (at Almont Dr.), Pulp Friction stage (at West Knoll Dr.) and several more stages scattered about.

Admission is free.

In Mar Vista…

BiThurs 10.31 BigFootW Halloweengfoot West will have a Haunted Halloween event on Halloween night. Patrons are asked to dress in costumes for a contest judged by party guests.

Contest contestants need to be there and register between 9 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Winners will share $450 in Bigfoot Bucks, redeemable at any of the six 1933 Group bars (La Cuevita, Sassafras, Thirsty Cow, Oldfield’s, Bigfoot West, Bigfoot Lodge).

DJ Sum will spin classic Halloween tunes and ’80s dance party music throughout the evening.

The OThurs 10.31 DayofDeadlvera Street Merchants Dia de los Muertos puts on Nine nights of Novenario processions through the Olvera Street Mexican market at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Site followed by free pan de muerto (sweet bread) and champurrado (a Mexican hot beverage).

There is also a Day of the Dead art exhibit inside the Pico House which has been open since Oct 25th and runs to Nov 24th.

ThPOW HauntedHayridee Haunted Hayride celebrates its fifth year. This month-long haunted attraction is held on the old grounds of the Los Angeles Zoo.

The extended trail returns for the 2013 event, with new maze, reworked from top to bottom.

So even if you attended last year, you won’t be prepared for this 25 minutes of terror!

This year the attraction takes it to a new level not seen before in haunted attractions. Located in Griffith Park. The event has been open since October 4, 2013 and continues through Halloween….Oct 31.
