Well it’s the third Thursday again and time for the Venice Art Crawl. It runs from 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm. It may be a bit slow tonight….however, some events are having some fun ones that go later.

Since the summer is over, it  always slows down, so it’s up to us local art lovers to get out there and support the cause.

Figtree’s Cafe

Start off at Figtree’s Cafe who puts on a lovely show each month. Tonight Figtree’s presents artists, Maya Batash (see image), Pepe Pelaez

exhibition.

Live music with Jacqueline Fuentes. Complimentary wine and appetizers will be served.  If you want to have dinner, you’ll receive 10% off (on food only) from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Then continue towards Pacific Ave., and stop into James Beach at 60 North Venice, for a group show as well as theCanal Club right across the Street,

Then back the way you came on Pacific walk towards Windward Ave, stop by the Hotel Erwin located at 1697 Pacific Avenue. Artists such as Erin Kelly, Jordan Nice, Yanessa and more will be featured.

Then back the way you came on Pacific walk towards Windward Ave, stop by the Hotel Erwin and across the street, you’ll seethe Gas Station, located at 1697 Pacific Avenue directly across from Hotel Erwin. This pop up artistic abandoned gas station holds a variety of artists and had quite the buzz going on last month. Some of this month’s artists include: Jules Muck, Amir Magal as well as several others.

Pop by the Venetians occupying the Windward Circle….they will have some music going on and some art too.BrianGirecky_Hama

Stop in at Hama Sushi at 213 Windward Ave to enjoy the art of Brian Girecky (see image).

At Danny’s Venice at 23 Windward, stop in for their drink specials, Skip right across the street to the Townhouse, (56 Windward) which always has a fun scene happening…not sure about the art but you’ll have a good time.

1320 Main Street Studios, between Westminster and San Juan offers The Inhibitions PROHIBITED photography exhibit, curated by Allison Keir.

This group show features a compilation of work from a variety of photographers, featuring African-Venetian actress and model Nana Ghana.

Be Aware that Parental advisory is suggested for all those who are shy with nudity. Otherwise hang up all your inhibitions at the door and come and enjoy the show!

Live DJ. Wine and Beer Bar with donations and BYOB welcomed. They will be screening short films and videos. Plus their own FOOD TRUCK!!!. This one starts a bit later, 7:00 pm…but goes till 11:00 pm.

Momentum

Momentum has moved to a new location this month, to Jim Morrison’s old house located at 523 Ocean Front Walk, between Rose and Brooks Ave. The art show starts at 7:00 pm…but the party gets going much later…10:00 pm till 1:00 am…yeah!

Then finally head back to the Momentum event, which moved again….this time to Jim Morrison’s old house located at sounds cool.

Arists include James Georgopoulous (Photography), Kim Barry (Installations). David Leitc (Installations and sculptures) Lindsey Nobel (Paintings, see image) and more. ART SHOW 7-10pm.  Zee Party 10pm – 1am

The art party takes place at 523 Ocean Front Walk, (between Rose and Brooks)
