In the Hollywood area….
Carmichael Gallery presents a new series of paintings by Los Angeles-based artist, Maya Lujan. For the first exhibition at the gallery’s new location, Lujan researched the former iteration of the space, a puppet theatre, and studied the building’s architectural features. 
These explorations assisted in shaping her new body of work, which sees her investigate the intersection of the tridimensional devices of expression. Each piece is an experiment between illusion and allurement; the paintings are embellished, textural and seductively built up, urging the viewer to touch and engage.

The next installation of Café Hollywood takes place a the Las Palmas Rec Center. The event features Master of Ceremonies Al Bowman (president of the LA Music Awards) along with the music of Byron Gore and Alexandra Besore.
Enjoy the comedy of Michael Rayner and the didgeridoo playing of Liam Stone. The trio “Women on the Move” featuring Linda Geleris, Trish Lester and Joan Enguita. Headliner for the night is Tracy Newman and the Reinforcements.
