Thursday June 13, 2024
In Hollywood…Show Gallery hosts an opening reception for SYNTHETICA by George Byrne. Challenging misconceptions that his work is made using AI, the artist has created a new series of photo collages that question reality in an increasingly digital age while paying homage to Byrne’s analog photo roots and the influence from the new topographics photographers. Beginning with medium format, film photographs taken with his Pentax 67 camera, Byrne’s process is one of addition, subtraction, as well as collage. One may also spot well known locations from previous road trips across the U.S. Art Party: 6-8:30pm; Show Gallery, 1515 N. Gardner Street, LA, 90046; https://www.show.gallery
