It’s Heal the Bay’s 30th Birthday…Party like it’s 1985 with DJ Richard Blade, Big Hair contest, rad surfboard art.
Southern California’s leading environmental group celebrates 30 years of healing the bay with a throwback “Party Like It’s 1985” birthday bash.
Hundreds of ocean lovers will be dancing their leg-warmers and Members Only jackets off with legendary ’80s-loving DJ Richard Blade at Santa Monica’s Cross Campus space.
Among the other enticements: surfboard art auction featuring designs from L.A.’s leading local artists; impromptu dance, costume and Big Hair contests; and the debut of the “Hula Bay” specialty cocktail.
DJ Richard Blade, the KROQ alumnus and current SiriusXM host, is known as the Voice of the ’80s. He will be entertaining a cross-section of L.A.’s biggest beach fans – surfers, artists, musicians, elected officials, business leaders and scientists.
The event will be held at Cross Campus in Santa Monica and celebrates a rare environmental success story – the successful restoration of Santa Monica Bay over the past 30 years.
The party honors Heal the Bay’s local and grassroots legacy – recognizing the thousands of everyday people who have donated their time, money or talent to this important cause.
