The L.A. Zine Fest is taking place on March 6, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at The Majestic Downtown 650 S Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90014 — It is Free to attend.
You may be asking what is a Zine?? Well here’s the definition. Zine (noun)ˈzēn : a noncommercial, handmade publication usually devoted to specialized and often unconventional subject matter; rhymes with “mean.”
The main entrance to L.A. Zine Fest is off of Spring St. between 6th and 7th st. directly across the street from L.A. Cafe.
Panel Discussions, Readings and Programming at L.A. Zine Fest 2016 are happening at three offsite locations, all within two blocks of The Majestic Downtown (where tabling is taking place). Make sure to visit the EVENTS PAGE for complete descriptions and schedules!
The tabling portion of the Fest will be on two floors of The Majestic Downtown, a historic building (built in 1921) that used to be a bank. Access to the second floor (Mezzanine) is accessible by stairs or elevator.
The Majestic Downtown is conveniently located near the Pershing Square Metro Station, accessible by either the Red or Purple subway lines. When you exit at Pershing Square, be sure to take the exit that goes toward 5th Street/Pershing Square. Landmarks are The Biltmore Hotel and the Central Public Library.

In Santa Monica…At Bergamot Station (2525 Michigan Ave.) bG Gallery (G-8) hosts a musical event. The first Sunday of each month, bG Gallery presents a series of narrative musical performances. Santa Monica Playhouse presents AUDITION! THE MUSICAL. Movie stars, music, suspense, hilarity, pathos, and the truth behind the Hollywood mystique, as told by those who’ve been there and done that. The 10th Anniversary production of the L.A. Times “Recommended” AUDITION! THE MUSICAL, based on the all-too-true-life Hollywood experiences of the award-winning creative team of Chris DeCarlo and Evelyn Rudie, is back and brings ten years more harrowing, haunting and hilarious Hollywood horror stories than when it opened in 2006. It’s the show for anyone who’s ever wanted to be the best…at anything.
AUDITION! THE MUSICAL plays Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3:30pm, March 5 through April 24, 2016.General admission is $29.50 with discounted tickets for students, teachers, seniors, members of the military at $24.50; groups of 8 or more, $17.50.
