At Beyond Baroque…7 Dudley film series takes place today. Filmmaker/Mime artist Natasha Maidoff performs Live Cinema!

VenSun-Mar23-NatashaMaidoff-CowSW-stillice artist Maidoff draws on her background in vaudeville and mime to modern fables in motion with her sensual, cinematic approach to film and movement. A work-in-progress, “The Sleepwalker” magically merges live dance and video projection, altering the viewing experience. Following this new work, curator Lance Richter will conduct a conversation about the piece with Maidoff.

Starting at 8:30 pm, Richter will show 16mm films, picking up on the theme of dance and landscape on film. Featuring Cyd Charisse, Bettie de Jong, Hilary Harris, Joan Labarbara, Norman McLaren, Ruby Keeler, Busby Berkeley. Real Film. Real Art. Real Bright.
