In Pasadena…

The Pasadena Playhouse (Artistic Director Sheldon Epps and Executive Director Elizabeth Doran) presents A CONVERSATION WITH PATRICIA MORISON, a 100th Birthday Celebration, on Sunday, March 15, 2015. This special event, honoring Broadway legend Patricia Morison (the original star of KISS ME, KATE) four days before her 100th birthday, takes place from 1:00 to 3:00 p,m. on The Playhouse’s Engemann Family Courtyard.

Ms. Morison will be joined by Director/Producer John Bowab for a unique conversation about her distinguished career in theatre and film, and her experiences working on Broadway with such luminaries as Cole Porter, Yul Brynner and Helen Hayes. Guests will also have the opportunity to ask Ms. Morison questions. Following the conversation, Ms. Morison will perform two musical numbers, accompanied by Tom Griep. The event will conclude with a special meet-and-greet with Ms. Morison.

Patricia Morison (born March 19, 1915) created the role of Lilli/Kate in the original Broadway production of KISS ME, KATE in 1948, opposite Alfred Drake. She made her Broadway debut in 1933 and followed KISS ME, KATE by starring on Broadway and on the road in THE KING AND I opposite Yul Brynner (including the first-ever Los Angeles production in 1954). Ms. Morison was present this past September at the Opening Night of The Pasadena Playhouse’s KISS ME, KATE, starring Wayne Brady and Merle Dandridge and directed by Sheldon Epps.

Brand Library & Art Center is pleased to present a landmark exhibition and programs to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. A grand opening reception for “life100” taking place at 2:00 pm with ribbon cutting (and cocktails).

The exhibition will showcase over 30 master Armenian artists and 20 contemporary Armenian BrandLIbraryArtGalleries-life100artists from Los Angeles, whose stories represent the impact of the Armenian Genocide from over 15 countries.

The exhibition and related programming is conceived and curated by the life100 Organizing Committee in coordination with the City of Glendale Library, Arts & Culture Department and the United Armenian Council for the Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide/LA.

In addition to the ongoing life100 exhibition, the program will include a variety of events throughout the run to be held at the Brand Library & Art Center. All events are free and open to the public.

In the HollywooDrRobby-Gordond Hills…

Dr. Robby Gordon sees the world in colors and shapes .His house is set up as gallery with 3 stories of amazing art.

The event begins at 4pm. Every wall is covered with painting, ceramics and glass. There is also a collection of hand painted ties clothes and furniture. All the windows (15 of them) have automatic painted vertical blinds that go up and down by remote control.

The windows frame a magnificent view into a unique sculpture garden with a view of downtown LA all the way to the ocean.
