A + D Museum pays tribute to the life of William F. Cody (1916 – 1978) with a solo exhibition “Fast Forward: The Architecture of William F. Cody.”

Curated by Emily Bills, Don Choi, Catherine Cody, Jo Lauria, the exhibition, marks the architect’s 100th birthday and celebrates his seminal contribution to modern architecture. Before graduating from USC in 1942, Cody had already distinguished himself as an expert draftsman and designer while working for Cliff May on housing developments in Los Angeles. An invitation to design a hotel in Palm Springs brought Cody to the desert in 1946 where he remained active until his death in 1978.

bG Gallery hosts an art talk in conjunction with its current exhibition. Working in Los Angeles for the past forty five years, Jim Barrett finds inspiration in the magic landscape and people of the area.

This body of work is an exploration of Los Angeles diversity and the complexity of the human condition. The exhibit will also feature the world premiere of Barrett’s massive 30ft multi-panel work War Complex.

Dr. Robby Gordon sees the world in colors and shapes. His house is set up as a gallery with three stories of amazing art. Every wall is covered with paintings, ceramics and glass.

There is also a collection of hand-painted ties, apparel, and furniture. All the windows (fifteen of them) have hand painted blinds which are operated remotely to expose the uniquely beautiful Hollywood Sculpture Garden as well as a breathtaking view of the downtown LA skyline.

Take a tour…
To celebrate the opening of our newest exhibit, “Moths at LArge” and in preparation for National Moth Week, G2 will host a private, guided moth tour of the San Gabriel Mountains led by visiting moth photographer Jim des Rivières and naturalist Scott Logan from Wild Wings Backyard Nature.
We will meet in La Cañada at 7 p.m. to caravan up the mountain. From there Scott will lead the group to a prime viewing spot where he and Jim will set up equipment to collect moths to photograph. The group will head back down the mountain around midnight.
Participants should bring a camera, flashlight/headlamp, sturdy shoes, jacket and water.
