Head to Hollywood…

Sun-April17-FMFineArtsRelative Perspectives” opens at FM Fine Art. The title has been used  (by the gallery) on special occasions over the last few years to showcase the paintings of two very distinct artists who are a father and son.

It is fascinating to compare the difference in approach, style, and technique of two painters who are linked not only genetically, but also constantly show together in their own shared gallery and often even find their works hanging in  many of the same collections. It is possible to feel a connectedness and energy when seeing the works presented together, despite the differences in style.

On view: April 17 – May 2

In Beverly Hills…

Its the final day to catch Jesse Eisenberg’s The Revisionist at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in a new production directed by Robin Larsen. There are two performances today 2:00pm and 7:00pm.

LeaRevisionist 59 LowResding the cast is Tony Award-winning star of August: Osage County Deanna Dunagan, Seamus Mulcahy and Ilia Volok. Opening Night took place on Friday, April 1.

About The Revisionist:
Overdue in delivering revisions of his new novel and distracted by city life, David plops himself in a cramped apartment in Szczecin, Poland, the home of a distant cousin named Maria. She is a complicated and indomitable figure — a Holocaust survivor who maintains a kind of shrine in her home to her far-off American relatives, many of whom she has met only once or twice. It’s a clash of cultures and generations as their divergent agendas, combined with cultural and culinary differences, lead to a spiky, combative relationship that ultimately questions their ideas of family.
