StudioEleven at Colburn presents a group show titled Geometrics, Expressions, Impressions. An opening reception will be held on Sunday afternoon, October 15, 2023 from 11am-2pm. The exhibition will run through June 30, 2024.

The exhibit title refers to structures and elements of music, dance and the visual artworks at Colburn this year. As in music and dance, visual art incorporates geometric forms both consciously and intuitively. Thesse forms create harmonies, patterns, consistency and expressive qualities. Some artworks focus more on expression and perception or impressions. Therefore expressing key elements of music and dance composition and performance.

StudioEleven Artists is a community dedicated to attentive artistic exploration, as well as growth and accomplishment. This is its 6th Annual exhibit at the Colburn. Artists include: Tere Abdala, Anne Brilliant, Loran Calvin, Elaine Cohenl, Suzanne DeCuir, Lynn Deegan, Jennifer Diener, BJ Dockweiler, Flora Golden, Deborah Schiller Hadl, Michele Jaffe, Monica Leal Cueva, Shelley Miller, Tressa Miller, Sandra Nichols, Darcy Leslie Parsons, Adrian Sanchez, Lisa Segal, Marjorie Sievers, Sarah Steinberg, and Laurie Yehia.

About StudioEleven

In 2014, a group of 26 independent artists who have worked and studied at or with the artist Tom Wudl at his studio in the Los Angeles Arts District, formed StudioEleven to support each other by extending their work through exhibitions, complementary educational experiences, and continuing conversations.

The name “StudioEleven” originated at the location of StudioEleven Art Gallery, which the artists operated on the 11th floor, at Maker City Los Angeles. From September 2014 through May 2015, StudioEleven members curated and presented monthly themed exhibitions that featured members’ artwork at the gallery.

Since its inception StudioEleven has  exhibited at a variety of spaces in the Los Angeles area including ArtShare LA (2014), the Colburn School of Performing Arts (2015 – 2016), the Ebell of Los Angeles (2016), the Neutra Institute Museum and Gallery (2017),  the Barrett Art Gallery in Santa Monica (2018), the Colburn School (2018 – 2019), the Colburn School (2019 – 2021), and currently at the Colburn School (2022-2023).
