Shatto Gallery presents a selection of drawings by the children of the Korean diaspora. An opening art party was held for Drawing Hope: Children’s Art for Peace on the Korean Peninsula on Saturday, November 4, 2023. However the exhibition runs through November 11, 2023…so stop in soon.

Shatto Gallery

Drawing Hope: Children’s Art for Peace on the Korean Peninsula is born out of more than two decades of exchange between Korean children on both sides of the peninsula, the Korean diaspora in Japan and beyond.

Shatto Gallery Drawing Hope

The exhibit brings to life the hopes, dreams, as well as the visions of the future from the youngest generations living in a divided peninsula. The artwork in the exhibition features artwork through the eyes of children.

The exchange of drawings is a glimmer of hope, a space to meet each other. The children draw out the hope from within us to reimagine a world free of division and violence. The artworks also celebrate the spirit of childlike wonder where beauty lies in seeing each other in full color.
