In West Hollywood…Song Word Art Gallery hosts a closing art party for A Kiss to Build a Dream On, inspired by the late and phenomenal legendary Louis Armstrong. The multi-award winning one-person play written by written by Marie Jones, and performed by Alan Smyth is set in Northern Ireland. It centers on Kenneth McCallister, a bored protestant dole clerk who has witnessed hatred and bigotry in his own community. Then he sets out on a voyage of discovery as well as redemption. albertz benda holds an opening art party for Gift Horse by ceramicist Sydnie Jimenez. It is the artist’s first solo exhibition with the gallery. The show’s title, Gift Horse, references the idiom “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth,” a saying that refers to taking the good with the bad and not taking gifts or life for granted.
