Glendale…The Brand Associates present a screening of The Chicano Collection / La Colección Chicana. The event is part of the Reel Art Film Series, and runs 53 minutes. The film features interviews with Cheech Marin and several artists from the groundbreaking Chicano Visions: American Painters on the Verge exhibition.
Following the screening, art journalist Matt Stromberg will moderate a conversation with artists Margaret Garcia and Michael Alvarez, along with art consultant Melissa Richardson Banks, exploring the film’s lasting impact on the Los Angeles Chicano art scene. NOON Projects presents The Hom(o)stead Act: Kaiserpanorama by Yuval Pudik. The exhibition inion reimagines the 19th-century Kaiserpanorama through a queer, post-digital lens.

The work consists of three interconnected acts: a towering cardboard sculpture with 28 viewing ports as well as a a three-hour stereoscopic film composed of over 18,000 clips from contemporary media. The Manhattan Beach Food & Wine Festival is back for its second year. Kicking off tonight, the two-night event takes place at Manhattan Village. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Culinary Careers Program (CCP). A wonderful organization, it supports culinary training for underserved high school students.
