The opening ceremony of Grand Park’s Dia de la Muertos at Gloria Molina Grand Park will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 11am-4pm. The nine day Día De Los Muertos installation features beautiful altars created by local artists and community organizations. In addition it includes family-friendly activities, as well as a Downtown Dia de Muertos closing celebration on November 2, 2025 from 3-7pm. The merchants on Olvera Street have celebrated Dia de los Muertos for nearly 40 years. Moreover, the celebration has evolved to incorporate the pre-Columbian, Aztec, Mayan and Catholic rituals surrounding death. Dia de los Muertos is a celebration of life. There are several Day of the Dead celebrations taking place on Olvera Street across the nine day celebration – October 25, 2025 – November 2, 2025. Many include an indigenous blessing ceremony and also live performances. There are community altars on display in the plaza as well. Join Forest Lawn for its parkwide Día De Los Muertos Celebration on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
