Our Pick of the Week takes place this Saturday, March 29th a unique craft beer festival, Tap, Cheer & Give is coming to the Westside of LA. It’s all about partying with a purpose. While the best of locally produced craft beer and music will be celebrated, Tap, Cheer and Give will also feature some very innovative cause-supporting brands (like TOMS shoes) that are making a positive impact on their community, environment, employees, or humanity as a whole.

Curated by Nicole Gordillo Schimpf, the gal behind the wildly successful BAM (Beer, Art & Music) Festival, Tap, Cheer & Give is certainly not your ordinary beer fest. With unlimited sampling of over 20 beers, 20-minute crash courses on all things beer-related, booty-shakin’ music, photo booth, gourmet food trucks, and the chance to support one of five different causes, Tap, Cheer & Give has reinvented “beer-tasting” for the thirsty and curious giver. So, grab a glass and hit the floor!

The event is a steal, with tickets priced at just $40. That gets you a 5oz souvenir glass and the opportunity to sample some insanely excellent beers, home-brewed sodas and herbal teas (see the list below). On top of all that tasting, attendees will also get the chance to purchase some seriously cool gear from the brands featured at the event and by doing so, support the non-profit causes that these companies give back to. For example, for every pair of sunglasses bought from SOLO Eyewear funds are donated to provide eye care for people in need. Or with every purchase of a tasty organic nut bar from This Bar Saves Lives, a life-saving packet of food is delivered to a child in need. In addition, every attendee is able to select one of the five causes represented at the event to which 10% of their ticket price will be donated. Now that is money well spent!

A special bonus for attendees will be the opportunity to participate in 20-minute mini-educational sessions called Crash Courses by experts such as Tomm Carroll, beer judge and writer for The Celebrator, Beer Paper LA and WestCoaster SoCal, and Carl Townsend of Pacific Gravity Home Brewers Club. These fun and engaging courses cover everything from the origin of specific styles of beer to the appropriate way to taste and evaluate it.

And all of the fun will happen at the hub of Los Angeles’ startup community, Cross Campus co-working and office space in Santa Monica. An engine of creativity and innovation, Cross Campus is the perfect location for Tap, Cheer & Give to rock the house.
