Since it is the week of art fairs – Our Pick of the Week is The LA Art Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The annual fair kicked off last night with a fun gala benefit and will continue through January 31, 2016.

A cultural and social highlight, the LA Art Show presents an exciting selection of curated galleries, unique special exhibitions and cultural events, in one of the art world’s greatest destinations. The LA Art Show will present more than 120 galleries representing 20 countries from the Americas, Europe and Asia. Attracting collectors and art enthusiasts for more than 20 years, The LA Art Show is the most anticipated art and cultural event in the region.

This year Littletopia has been added to the event…Featuring street and pop art, this was quite a popular section at the opening…lots of fun was had here.

You can find bG Gallery at booth 909. The galery has exhibited for the past 5 years. This will be the first time that Stephanie Visser has exhibited at the LA Art Show.

The Fine Arts Film Festival presented by the Venice Institute of Contemporary Art has partnered with the LA Art Show to present a curated selection of films at the 2016 LA Art Show.

Each of the three selections examines a category of art that is represented at the LA Art Show and the Los Angeles Fine Art Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center from January 27-31, 2016. The film series is free with admission. Space is limited

Mixed media artist Jennifer Verge will be showing at the annual art fair. “I’m really excited to be apart of the LA Art Show this year and to be showing with Art Unified. Owners Johan Andersson and Patrick Felder are great guys  making a huge mark in Venice with their Live Art supper club featuring various artist and Traveling around the world to various air fairs Scope Miami being one of them. For the first time this year…the Los Angeles Fine Art Show debuts….Offering a focus on historic and traditional contemporary works, the new portion of the show provides a dedicated experience for collectors of traditional works, from paintings, to sculpture and works on paper.

Complementing the historic works, The Los Angeles Fine Art Show will present a select group of contemporary artists that have worked in, and continue to explore traditional genres and regional styles.  Bridging the historic and contemporary, the Los Angeles Fine Art Show is curated to present the best in representational works including 18th Century European Paintings, Impressionist works, Contemporary Realism, California Plein Air, Hudson River School and more.

The LA Art Show will be attended by collectors including: Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Melanie Griffith, Nikki Sixx, Seth Green, Olivia Holt, Yara Shahidi, Barbara Streisand, James Brolin, Leonardo DiCaprio, James Franco, Lily Collins, Eli Broad, Gayle Rossi and Shepard Fairey among others. Leading galleries at the 2015 event included:  ACE Gallery Los Angeles, Praxis International Art, Tachibana Gallery, Jack Rutberg Fine Art, Copro Gallery, Red Truck Gallery, Sloan Fine Art, Spoke Art, the Verne Collection, Antena Estudio, Rehs Galleries and others.

Public hours begin on Thursday January 28th and continue through Sunday, January 31st.

General admission (Thurs – Sunday) is $20. Four day pas is $35;
