G2-Gallery-LOGOOur Pick of the Week takes place this Saturday at the G2 Gallery….one of my favorite galleries. This gallery gives back to important nonprofit organizations such as The Bay Foundation, InterTribal Sinkyone Wilderness Council, Greenpeace, Earthjustice and Western National Parks Association.

The G2 Gallery celebrates three new photography exhibits: “Nature LA: The Great Bear Rainforest” featuring Jennifer MaHarry, “Emerging VIII” featuring Nathan Fagan, Nicki Geigert and Charlie Lieberman, and “Friend or Fo-to” featuring Mark Leevan and Dan and Susan Gottlieb.

The G2 Gallery is an award-winning nature and wildlife photography gallery that facilitates change by bringing attention to environmental issues through the persuasive power of photographic art. G2 shares this passion with both celebrated and emerging environmental photographers, who use the camera as a tool to inspire conservation.

“TheNov21-G2Gallery-JenniferMaHarry Reflection WM-3 Great Bear Rainforest” is MaHarry’s sixth solo exhibition at G2. (I love this photographer’s work – fabulous)

Each of her shows has focused on intimate personification of a certain group of animals – horses, birds of prey, shelter pets, wolves and now, creatures from one of the largest remaining tracts of unspoiled temperate rainforest in the world. Photographs of cougars, wolves, grizzly bears and the elusive white “spirit bear” will be on display in MaHarry’s characteristic style.

“Emerging VIII” features Nathan Fagan, Nicki Geigert and Charlie Lieberman,

In “Emerging VIII,” Geigert is a well-traveled California photographer represented by Tandem Stills + Motion in Culver City, Fagan is a 15-year old fine art surf photographer, and Lieberman is a Hollywood cinematographer with decades of experience shooting film.

“Friend or Fo-to” will include work from Dan Gottlieb’s newly-printed Yellowstone series, Susan Gottlieb’s beloved White Lake Preservation Project and Mark Leevan’s stunning underwater photography.

The show marks a return to in-house exhibition for the gallery’s founders. The Gottliebs’ Garden for Wildlife traveling exhibit can be found on the walls of the UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica and was on display at the El Dorado Nature Center in 2014.
