dnj Gallery celebrates a new exhibition titled “Development,” presenting work by artists: Catherine Asanov, Ellen Cantor, Corey Grayhorse and Suda House.

In keeping with dnj Gallery’s commitment to showing photography that emphasizes concepts and beliefs and the evolution of the photographer’s artwork, “Development,” similar to previous shows, organizes an exhibit of these four gallery artists. Each of these artists began with a single question; a sole direction is taken. Multiple series are then created in order to discover the solution or to design an approach to find the answer. These various bodies become the different projects within each artist’s collection. Catherine Asanov is an experienced fashion and advertising photographer, developing the necessary skills to highlight a person’s distinctive qualities, but her personal work digs deeper.May18-2019-520pix-dnjGallery-Development
Ellen Cantor examines light, time, and memory, and their combination through various junctures. She looks at colors, shape, and texture, as well as studying the passing of a period. Her images display a flow, through beauty and awe that can only circulate through this kind of mixture.

Corey Grayhorse, designs vivid, colorful scenes full of the absurd and silly evoking a made-up reality. In a sense, she’s recreating the truth. She produces intricate worlds that incorporate her influences from art, fashion, set design and pop culture.

Suda House has focused on pulling back nature’s physical boundaries to explore the strength and power of women during her life and career. She generates personal comments on these women as an attempt to honor them. She captures the suffering and hardships women face, as well as illustrates their beauty and strength.
