Venice Beach
The Venice Afterburn returns. The annual Burning Man Regional event of the LA West side will take place this weekend. The two-day celebration spotlights art, music, mutant vehicles, and interactivity at Windward Plaza in Venice beach.
The event pays tribute to the Burning Man principles as well as the culture of Black Rock City. Much like Venice, it celebrates the spirit of community, gifting, creative collaboration, radical inclusion and de-commodification.
Enjoy the work of 45 artists showcasing their theme camp, art cars and installations, with 40 djs on two art car stages, and a third stage with live music. LED flowers will lead you to amazing art installations including Gregg Fleishman’s Satellite pod. Debi Cable’s blacklight art will blow your mind. I am a huge fan of her art.
Also you will be in awe of fire spinners, flame effects and fireworks of LED by LA artist Liquid PXL (‘Dandelion”), plus lots more. Afterburn: 12-10pm; Free entrance BEFORE 6pm or $10 If you arrive after 6pm; No entries past 9pm. Windward Plaza, 1 Winward Circle, Venice 90291; https://www.veniceafterburn.com
