Also DowntownThe New Yard Gallery debuts First Light Continues, an extension of its inaugural exhibition. The work of six internationally renowned artists from various countries will be featured. La Luz de Jesus Gallery debuts two exhibitions – Familiar Feeling by Ashley Dreyfus as well as Small Bites of Imaginary Reality. Familiar Feeling by the illustrator and muralist features a new series of artworks spotlighting 60s/70s era nostalgia. Moreover, many of these works are centered around her alter-egos and anthropomorphized animals and plants. These bring to mind her affection for the past. The latter exhibition by American painter and underground comic artist Guy Colwell includes tiny ink drawings, in addition to over 100 small paintings. The Luckman Fine Arts Complex at Cal State LA presents the multi-platinum-selling, five-time Grammy-nominated artist Michael Feinstein. Supported by the Carnegie Hall Ensemble as well as the Luckman Jazz Orchestra, the “Ambassador of the Great American Songbook” will pay a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Tony Bennett, bringing his iconic songs to life in a symphony of sound.
