Sunday October 26, 2025 Art Parties & Events bring a fabulous finale to a busy weekend in the City of Angels. In addition to a KCRW Halloweeny foodie event downtown, you can then pop into the final day of the Brewery Artwalk & Open Studios. Art events take place at Leica, the Middle Room, and Matter Studio. Plus we have some great theatre offerings for you.

Animated-Halloween

KCRW and Smorgasburg Los Angeles collaborate and a day of yummy monster mash! Kids of all ages, and the young-at-heart are invited to enjoy all the ghoulishly sweet delights of this KCRW Family Day at Spookysburg. Dress up and enter the costume contest and parade.As usual the weekly culinary will be held at Row DTLA.

Kids can enjoy story time with KCRW’s All Things Considered host Steve Chiotakis. The adults can shake their booty to seasonal tunes with KCRW DJs Novena Carmel and Ro ‘Wyldeflower’ Contreras. Plus  get create some art and partake in art activities. Don’t forget to bring your candy bag, as you go trick-or-treating through Smorgasburg’s shopping aisle. The 2025 Fall Brewery Artwalk & Open Studios takes place again today. Meet working artists and take a peek inside their studios at this FREE event. The venue is also super cool, since it was a former Brewery. Therefore the historic building has its own special qualities.

Located just East of DTLA, in addition to FREE admission, there is also free parking. Don’t forget to stop into I-5 Gallery. Plus you may want to pop by the Beer Garden or partake in some tasty cuisine from one of the Food Trucks. The Middle Room hosts an artist panel as well as a closing art party for its current exhibition The Dinner Party. West Hollywood

Leica Gallery hosts an artist talk and also a book signing for photographer and artist Matthew Rolston. His latest exhibition is presented in partnership with Fahey/Klein Gallery, Los Angeles, ArtCenter College of Design, Daido Moriyama Museum / Daido Star Space, and Leica Gallery, Los Angeles.

The multi-venue Los Angeles exhibition of his latest series Vanitas: The Palermo Portraits, alongside the release of a special limited-edition monograph on Nazraeli Press now it moves to Leica. The Inkwell Theater at Broadwater Main Stage presents Emmy Award winner Elliot Shoenman’s WORLD PREMIERE play – Paper Walls. It just opened yesterday, and will run through November 9, 2025. The play portrays a poignant story very similar to what is happening today. A family is profoundly affected by Hitler’s rise to power. They find themselves desperately fleeing persecution while awaiting entry into the United States. Restrictive U.S. immigration policies and antisemitism intensified their struggle.

Jaja’s African Hair Braiding continues its run at the Mark Taper Forum. Written by Tony-nominated playwright Jocelyn Bioh and directed by Whitney White, the Tony-nominated and Obie-winning director, the show is set in a bustling Harlem salon.

GRAMMY-winning artist Cory Henry returns to The Miracle Theater tonight for his next installment of his monthly The Church Experience concert series. This spiritually-rooted evening brings together music, food, as well as community. With new special guests featured every month, August’s installment of ‘The Church Experience’ will once again feature ‘The Apostle Community Choir,’ a 30+ member vocal ensemble composed of vocalists from all ages, walks of life, and different backgrounds. Many of the choir members have prominent careers of their own as singers, producers, and musicians.

“I’ve always wanted to have a choir since I was a kid,” Henry reflects, “This is an add-on to all of these Church Experiences we’ve been doing. I realized one of the biggest parts of gospel music and soul music is choirs—and choirs build fellowship. We’re joining together to build fellowship amongst musicians and amongst the people in LA.” Henry is also coming off the heels of his latest soul release Divine Time, a 7-song album cataloging experiences navigating love, faith, business, and maturity in today’s modern world.
