October 12, 2025 Art Parties & Events offer a lovely final day to a busy weekend filled with art. Take advantage of DTLA’s open streets event CicLAvia. In addition, it’s the second and final day of the Los Angeles Printers Fair. Plus VCH hosts its annual jazz brunch and fundraiser. And of course, the run of Jaja’s African Hair Braiding continues at the Mark Taper.

Downtown…CicLAvia—Heart of LA presented by Metro takes place today. This is CicLAvia’s 15th year. Bike, Walk, Jog, skate or dance down the car-free Downtown LA. Here is a list of Hubs along the way: the MacArthur Park Hub located on West 7th St adjacent to MacArthur Park; Chinatown Hub located on N Broadway north of College St; Little Tokyo Hub located on S Central Ave south of 1st St; and Mariachi Plaza Hub located on 1st St east of S Boyle Ave. Hubs offer free family-friendly activities, restrooms, free water refilling stations, free basic bike repair, as well as bike parking. There are also places to sit and meet up with friends and family, and also first aid. Free pedicab rides are available at each hub’s information booth. Also Downtown…Today’s Smorgasburg Los Angeles features all types of cuisine. It is a popular weekly culinary adventure at Row DTLA every Sunday. Carson

It’s the second and final day of the Los Angeles Printers Fair at the International Printing Museum. It is the largest celebration of letterpress, paper arts, as well as book artistry in the West. Celebrated Detroit-based artist Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. of KENNEDY PRINTS is scheduled to headline the event. Tickets are good for both days; Parking is free. Tours, printing demos, and activities are ongoing throughout the event; Proceeds from the LA Printers Fair benefit the International Printing Museum, a nonprofit educational institution dedicated to the heritage, preservation, and advancement of the printing arts;

Jaja’s African Hair Braiding continues its run at the Mark Taper Forum. Written by Tony-nominated playwright Jocelyn Bioh and directed by Whitney White, the Tony-nominated and Obie-winning director, the show is set in a bustling Harlem salon.
