“Mirrors of the Mind 6: The Psychotherapist as Artist” returns for its sixth year. Founded by Pamela Mc Crory Ph.D. and Terry Marks Tarlow Ph.D., the annual group exhibition presents a broad spectrum of visual and performing arts to the public which includes fine art, musical performances and poetry. “The Mirrors of the Mind concept was born over a cup of coffee between the two of us,” said co-founder Pamela McCrory Ph.D.. “The integration of two of our passions—psychology and the arts, soon developed into a shared vision and a vital committee—necessary ingredients for successful community outreach.” http://pamelamccroryphd.com/

Co-founder Terry Marks-Tarlow Ph.D. exhibits her work as an artist, while maintaining a full practice as a therapist. She encourages her clients to create their own form of art. “Art is the expression of the self in its highest form. Art heals. Art reveals. Even if people don’t come to me thinking of themselves as creative, mostly everyone leaves feeling more so. The most universal form of creativity is novelty, which can be embraced in so many forms, from taking a new path to work, concocting a new recipe, or having a stimulating conversation.” http://www.markstarlow.com

This event is sponsored by the Community Outreach Committee (COC) of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association (LACPA) whose mission is to foster a culture of inclusiveness and respect for diversity in our organization and our community outreach efforts.
