Neo LA Gallery celebrated artist Michelle Flores as well as her first solo show with the gallery. Curated by PRMTVO, the opening art party took place on November 2, 2023. The exhibition runs through November 14, 2023.

“Each weaving is inspired by traditional folk art, excursion and the nuances of craft found in Mexican popular culture. The work is expressed through organic and recycled materials combining ancestral weaving techniques and patterns with modern street souvenir collectables” – Michelle Flores

Working primarily on a traditional floor loom, Flores creates woven tapestry images that explore the nuances of craft and also domesticity, in particular its varying interpretations and representations from traditional folk art to pop souvenirs in Mexican and Mexican American culture.
