The 45th Annual 2024 Venice Family Clinic Art Walk + Auction kicks off on May 10, and runs through May 19, 2024. The free annual event will be held at 910 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Venice, 90291. As always, attendees have the chance to bid on works of established, mid-career, as well as emerging artists. The public can view the artwork online, and bids will be accepted at Bonhams.com/veniceartwalk starting May 10 and running through May 19, 2024. Then a post auction runs through May 24, 2024.

The theme of this year’s event is History, Health, and Home. The producers of the event chose this theme in order spotlight the importance of building community. The feeling of Home contributes to a person’s well-being.

The 2024 Venice Family Clinic Art Walk + Auction’s Signature Artist is Fred Eversley. The renowned sculptor and pioneer of the Light and Space art movement has been based in Venice for over fifty years. Eversley synthesizes elements from various artistic historical movements associated with Southern California. His work reflects his lifelong studies of the timeless principles of light, space, time, and gravity.

The annual event has successfully brought together artists, gallery owners in addition to collectors to all participate in raising funds. Art sales help to fund the Clinic’s innovative approach to providing comprehensive health care services.

Venice Family Clinic Art Walk + Auction Humble Beginnings

In 1979, Venice Family Clinic was on the verge of closing its doors when a group of Clinic supporters gathered with local artists to organize the first-ever Art Walk + Auction to ensure the community continued to receive vital medical services. Frank Gehry played an integral role in bringing the event to life by appealing to the artists living and working in Venice’s thriving art scene. Artists such as Lita Albuquerque, John Baldessari, Larry Bell, Billy Al Bengston, Laddie John Dill, Ed Moses and Ed Ruscha donated artwork to the auction.

Venice Family Clinic is a nonprofit community health center that is a leader in providing high-quality health care to more than 45,000 people in need annually. The Clinic serves an area from the Santa Monica Mountains through the South Bay in Los Angeles County. It also has mobile clinics as well as an expansive street medicine program to reach people experiencing homelessness.
