The Mar Vista Art Walk (MVAW) is back for its Spring quarter event. A fun community event that takes place up and down Venice Blvd. and runs from Beethoven St. to Inglewood Blvd. I have attended many times and you just never know what to expect…artists painting live, musicians playing, and all types of artwork.

This quarter’s inclusive event celebrates our ROOTS. It’s is all about honoring our ancestors and the places we came from to create the beautiful melting pot that is our community. This event honors its historic residents — the Tongva and Oaxacan communities — as well as longtime residents whose ancestors hail from all parts of the world.

This event is made possible in part by grants from the Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with Community Partners. Special thanks to our sponsors Michelle Pine Rappoport KW Realty and organizers Green Communications Initiative, the enthusiastic support of Councilmember Mike Bonin and the Mar Vista Community Council and would not be possible at all without the community of local artists curated by Monique Boileau.

Be sure to check the website for more info about the Mar Vista Art Walk.
